Article 1: Preamble
Recognizing the need for laws regulating the oficial religion of the empire, and the rigths of other religions and non-believers.
Recognizing the importance of religion in the monarchy and the royal family.

Article 2: Recognition of the one true faith
The [INSERT RELIGION NAME HERE XD] religion is recognized as the oficial religion of the region.
The emperor is recognized as the legitimate messenger of the Gods, and the royal family as divine in nature.
All government officials are to swear allegiance to the one true faith, or be charged for treason if they fail to do so.
All heresies are deemed illegitimate, and practicing or preaching one is considered a punishable offense.
Blasphemy of the one true faith becomes a punishable ofense.

Article 3: Rights of the nations
A nation is allowed to have any official faith (or none).
Nations that don't have the one true faith as their oficial religion are obliged to pay an unbelievers tax.

This should wait until we have a fresh senate in a few days. And until we have a religion. Also, how would a regional tax work? Required to donate stamps? That seems like intruding too far into real life.

And you may want to take a look at the constitution. Freedom of speech is protected, and it is generally held that freedom of religion counts as a form of speech. In the meantime, unless you want to bring this before Justice Adara, I'll be locking this thread. iLock.

Also violates section 1.1 of the criminal code.

Treason is defined as attempting to overthrow the Supreme Justice, a member of the Cabinet, or a member of the Senate.

Piece of advice. Don't use treason here. Define a seperate crime here, say it's an amendment to the criminal code, then do your bill, then you're good. Otherwise, I'll probably be taking you to court.
